The Winter Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival is approaching its final week, and Brisbane Racing Club has saved the best for last with the spectacular UBET Stradbroke Day.
Doomben Racecourse glitters with glory as UBET Stradbroke Day not only boasts an unrivalled programme of racing but strives for excellence off the track with a selection of fine food, fashion and entertainment.
On UBET Stradbroke Day, emotion and noble tradition come to the forefront with prize money of over $3.8 million contested over the course of the day.
This year, Brisbane Racing Club has thrown it back to yesteryear by transforming the Doomben grounds with a free vintage-inspired Carnival Carousel, a two-storey merry-go-round featuring festooned lighting and old-time music on the public lawn.
The Village, known as the buzzing hub of the carnival, will be brimming with an indulgent offering of free makeup pamper stations, pop-up speakeasies, restaurants and bars. This is also where the QueensPlaza Fashions On The Field will be taking place and you can catch the who’s who of Brisbane competing for best dressed.
But however high the stakes are on the track, we understand more than most that the style stakes are just as exciting off the track.
Although it may be sitting safely at the top of our social calendars, UBET Stradbroke Day is renowned for its popular dress code of black, white and a touch of red.
When it comes to following the Winter Racing dress code, it’s important to keep it traditional but that doesn’t mean you have to stick to all of the rules.
To cut through the fuss of trackside fashion faux pas, we’ve put a 2018 spin on what to wear to UBET Stradbroke Day.
Swap See-Through Tops For Sleeves
Swap Mini Skirts For Midi Length
Swap Crop Tops For Jumpsuits
Swap Tube Dresses For Power Suits
Swap Fascinators For Hats
Swap Strappy Heels For Booties
If these looks aren’t enough to inspire a day out at the races then the promise of rubbing shoulders with Race Day Ambassador Sam Frost and a boogie with the after party headliner’s J-Funk certainly will.
See you at the track!
