The Two Things Your Glam Squad Wishes You’d Stop Asking
Ever wonder what your beauty therapist really thinks while they’re working their magic?
When you’re preparing for a big event like a wedding or birthday party, it’s no surprise that looking your best can take a little extra effort.
Assembling a kick-ass glam squad in the lead-up to your big day can take some time, but once you find the perfect team to help you become your most fabulous self, the rest comes easily.
Just a quick note: This post is sponsored, but we only write about things we reckon you’ll love. Thanks to Leg Vein Doctor for the beauty tips.
We chat to some of the industry’s best for their tips on how to prepare for your big day and reveal the things they’d wish you’d stop asking.
CAN I HAVE PERFECT LEGS IN LESS THAN A WEEK?
Unfortunately, many women leave it too late to achieve flawless legs in time for their beach honeymoon.
If you have varicose or spider veins, which you are looking to get treated because they appear unsightly, Dr Nicholas Kemp of The Leg Vein Doctor recommends you consider seeing a phlebologist sooner rather than later. For optimal results, most patients require two or three sessions which are usually spaced 4-6 weeks apart and are often followed by a review appointment.
To achieve the results you want, it’s ideal to plan your initial consultation at least 6 months ahead of your big day. If treatment can’t be completed a month before your event, Dr Kemp recommends getting a good spray tan on your legs. A bit of colour can go a long way to hide those veins if you’ve left it too late for leg vein treatments.
CAN YOU MAKE ME LOOK LIKE HER?
Kelly Beer from the Stefan Squad explains that more women should start embracing their natural beauty. Make-up should be used to show off your best features. Kelly says the next time you’re in the make-up chair, remember your stylist can’t change your features but they can use their tricks of the trade (hello contouring!) to bring out your best.
“Accept the compliment!” she says.
“When we style you, we really do think you look beautiful and we love to tell you because it’s true! Don’t be so hard on yourself, accept our compliments and enjoy the skin that you’re in.”
Next time you’re getting your make-up done, try not to demand the impossible. Remember that they are working on the same canvas that you do at home – your face. So if you have brought in a photo of someone who has been filtered or photoshopped, remember to keep your expectations real.
