David Jones boutique set to hit James Street
Because there’s no other store like…
Just when we thought James Street couldn’t get any better, it has been revealed that the thriving retail and lifestyle precinct is set to welcome a new high-end boutique David Jones store.
Department store David Jones submitted a development application for a new luxury boutique store that will boast a specialist version of a typical David Jones, on a boutique scale.
The proposed development will occupy the former three-level SPACE Furniture showroom. It seems the store will operate over four levels with a carefully curated mix of fashion, beauty and accessories brands. There will even be a customised store design to complement the unique James Street precinct.
Supplementing the boutique offering, the new store will offer customers access to David Jones’ full collections via its Click and Collect service. This means sneaky trips to Sydney or Melbourne to get your hands on the high-end outfit of your dreams are no longer necessary!
Commenting on the new store, David Jones Chief Executive Officer John Dixon says,
“James Street is one of Brisbane’s most vibrant shopping and lifestyle precincts making it an ideal location for our new boutique format. This dynamic format enables us to deliver an innovative store experience in a smaller footprint, with a customised fashion and beauty offering and specialised services.”
According to the plans lodged with the development application, the ground level will include a concierge, beauty department, and women’s accessories, watches and jewellery area.
Level one will be dedicated solely to womenswear, including shoes and handbags. Additional womenswear and a menswear section will be found on level two, along with men’s accessories and shoes.
In November last year, David Jones opened its first scaled-down high-end boutique in Sydney’s Barangaroo, making the proposed James Street development the second boutique David Jones instalment.
Now Brisbane shoppers will be able to get a taste of the famous department store in their favourite high-end boutique hub!
