This will be Gale’s fifth VS Fashion Show, with the model debuting on the runway in 2013 and returning for the 2014, 2016, 2017 and now 2018 shows, and the Swedish-Australian model is busy prepping for the marathon event with a lot of hard work and sweat.
“I like to go bed early the night before the casting so I get a good night’s sleep. I set my alarm early so I can do a meditation when I wake, and I then do a quick 15 min ab-blast to help define my abs,” Gale says of her pre-audition routine, adding she also dances around the house to her favourite music before heading to the casting call. “It’s all about being present when I’m at the casting, so I turn my phone on to flight mode so I’m not distracted.”

Now confirmed for the 2018 show, Gale says she is working out six days a week but her exercise routine doesn’t change too much in the lead-up to the show – this is Gale’s routine 24/7, 365.
“To be honest my exercise regimen doesn’t change that much leading up to the show. Meaning I work out six days per week all year round and usually workout 2 hours per day, and on top of that I like power walking 15 – 30km each day,” the model says, adding, “In the lead up to the show I walk closer to 30 km every day, workout 2h per day.”
Closer to show time, Gale says she begins to focus on her glutes, “abs and ass”.
“In the lead up to the show it’s more important to me to focus on the muscle groups and make sure I really target those areas as best I can, which is through exercises with ankle weights, gliders and resistance bands,” says Gale.
When she’s not preparing for the show Gale says she prefers to play tennis or beach volleyball for her workouts but continues to eat healthy all year round, of course.
“That’s how I was brought up,” Gale says of her healthy food habits. “I was never introduced to bad, unhealthy foods so for me it’s just natural to eat very healthy. I eat lots of fish, all vegetables except potatoes, I love slow release carbs like oatmeal for breakfast, yogurt, and lots of berries and fruits. I snack on nuts and raw vegan chocolate sweetened with coconut sugar,” Gale reveals.

During her preparation for VS Gale says she only alters her diet slightly: “In the lead up to the show I stick to berries, yogurt and an all greens juice for brekky, white fish or shrimps or scallops with veggies for lunch, and a similar dinner. And I snack on raw vegan chocolate during the day to get energy for my workouts,” says Gale who admits she will be celebrating the success of her 2018 walk with some pasta, pizza or both.
Beauty-wise, Gale turns opts for some switches (coffee has to go) and heat to boost her glow.
“I go to an infrared sauna, they are great for a whole range of health benefits and also help make your skin glow. I also like them because they help get rid of any puffiness or water retention I may have,” says Gale.

Gale continues, “I take ashwagandha to help with stress, and since stress has an impact on your beauty from the inside out I’d say ashwagandha is helpful in keeping my skin clear. I also switch my morning coffee to morning matcha instead two weeks prior to show. And I make sure to not skip my daily dose of chlorella and spirulina. Chlorella especially, keeps my nails and hair healthy and strong.
So what is Gale looking forward to after he 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is over?
“Drinking, eating, dancing all night with my friends, and sleeping. In that order!”
